Some quick advice..

Majority of UPVC companies will use unexperienced sub-contractors to construct your new Conservatory, majority of these fitter are on a price and will construct or even bodge your conservatory together to get the job completed quicker.

Always check with your UPVC companies if they use sub-contractors, if they do ask to see the sub-contractors qualifications or proof of previous work before any works commence.

uPVC doors are more modern than wooden doors and are popular for several reasons. One of the main reasons is that uPVC doors are cheap in comparison to expensive wooden doors.

They also have other benefits in comparison, such as they have a higher resistance to weathering and require less maintenance in general.

However, both of these doors have flaws which are very similar. The use of a singular material limits the design of the door significantly, allowing for certain flaws to be common across both types of door.

This is where composite doors come in. Composite doors are the newest type of door used in homes. Composite doors have been designed taking into consideration the common flaws experienced in singular material doors. Using a combination of materials which have been selected for their beneficial properties, composite doors allow for the old flaws to be effectively 'designed out' and come in many colours.

Some quick advice..

If a door doesn't lock easily its more than likely been installed under strain which can cause further problems.
Cheap UPVC door panels may not be reinforced and can become easy access to burglar's.
If your door slams shut or doesn't stay still when open, your door has not been installed level.
A good door will have an antipick barrel and have no more than 5 points of locking.

Some quick advice..

You can save alot of money by reducing the amount of opening windows on a window change.
Always check with your installer that the glass which is being fitted in your new windows is Pilkington K A rated.
Box sash windows cost more money to replace because the existing window casement actually sits behind the brickwork.So more remedial work is required.
Fire escape windows are now required for all bedrooms ground floor and upper floors.
